Presided over by its Speaker Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, Majlis Al-Shoura held its 48th ordinary session today. During the session, Dr. Al-Sheikh congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier on Eid Al-Fitr. Majlis Al-Shoura praised the significant efforts exerted by the State services to facilitate the performance of Umrah rituals, hailing the laying of the foundation stone of the Grand Mosque expansion project by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The cost of expansion project is SR 40 billion. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, the Secretary General of Majlis Al-Shura Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Ghamdi said that Majlis Al-Shura discussed a number of issues on its agenda and approved a draft memorandum of cooperation between King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Isa Cultural Center of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
