Dr. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Aal Al-Sheikh, Speaker of the Shoura (Consultative) Council has commended the Grand Mosque expansion project launched recently by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. Presiding over the 48th ordinary session of the Council here on Sunday, Aal Al-Sheikh congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier on Eid Al-Fitr. The Council praised the significant efforts exerted by the State to facilitate the performance of Umrah rituals, hailing the laying of the foundation stone of the Sr40 billion Grand Mosque expansion project by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The Council applauded the State's keenness to provide all kinds of facilities to Umrah pilgrims and visitors to the Two Holy Mosques. In a statement following the session, Dr. Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, Secretary General, said the Council discussed several issues on its agenda and approved a draft memorandum of cooperation between King Abdul Aziz Foundation for Research and Archives and Isa Cultural Center of Bahrain.
