A magnitude-6.7 earthquake shook the central Argentine province of Santiago del Estero Friday. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties. According to the US Geological Survey, the quake took place at a depth of about 592 kilometres below the earth's surface. The impact of the quake, whose epicentre was about 130 kilometres east of Santiago del Estero city, was felt on some tall buildings in Buenos Aires, about 1,000 kilometres away, according to a report of the German Press Agency "DPA".
