Electromin celebrates victory of "Nissan Formula E Team" in "Jeddah E-Prix" as first Saudi private-sector global partner in Formula E
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 16 - 02 - 2025

Electromin, a pioneering Saudi provider of smart mobility and new energy solutions, began contributing to the success of Electromin-sponsored Nissan Formula E Team at the start of this season's championship in December 2024.
Electromin celebrated on Saturday a historic achievement as Nissan Formula E Team secured second place on day 1 and first place on day 2 at the Formula E Jeddah E-Prix, marking another milestone in their global strategic partnership with the Japanese team. Following the team's race win in Mexico City E-Prix last month, this back-to-back success underscores Electromin's commitment to innovation and sustainability in motorsport.
Electromin is the first Saudi private-sector company to partner with a global Formula E team. The strategic collaboration was first announced on October 15, 2024, with both companies committing to a four-year global agreement to advance the future of electric mobility. The partnership was formally sealed and celebrated at a signing ceremony on Wednesday, Feb. 12, in Jeddah, reinforcing the shared vision of innovation and sustainability between the two entities.
In a first for the race team, Electromin has provided electric bus transfers for the duration of the team's stay in Jeddah, ensuring carbon-conscious transportation. This demonstrates Electromin's leadership in smart mobility solutions.
On this occasion, Amr Al-Dabbagh said: "We are proud to witness this remarkable achievement in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as Electromin sponsored "Nissan Formula E Team". This partnership reflects our commitment to leading the charge in electric mobility and aligning with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, which places innovation and sustainability at the heart of our future."
Kalyana Sivagnanam, Group CEO of Petromin, added: "Our partnership with "Nissan Formula E Team" marks a significant milestone in Electromin's journey to accelerate electric mobility in the region. We are proud to play a leading role in supporting the team and, through this collaboration, aim to fast-track the adoption of electric vehicle technologies in the Kingdom, in line with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goals."
This partnership fuels innovation in Nissan's Formula E program and reinforces Electromin and Nissan Formula E Team's shared commitment to a more sustainable future. Electromin looks forward to continuing its support for Nissan Formula E Team in upcoming races, contributing to shaping the future of electric mobility in the region and beyond.
