At least seven people were killed during the last twenty-four hours in on-going wave of violence and guerrilla war in the Pakistani city of Karachi. Police said Pakistani government officials were among those killed and that a great majority of them lost their lives in targeted-assassinations waged by militant rival gangs on the basis of race. Pakistani media reported that yesterday (Saturday) was comparatively less bloody in the current violence gripping the city as 75 people died in the previous four-days of racial riots, noting that this indicates a marked decline in the security tension in Karachi city.
