Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik said today the time has come to eliminate armed gangs behind the violence and targeted assassinations in the city of Karachi, the capital of Sindh province. This was stated by Malik after a day of his arrival in Karachi on the directives of Pakistan's President and Prime Minister to control the bloody wave of violence plaguing the security of the city after the failure of regional authorities. He added that the government will take measures to eliminate all (miscreants) and bring about a complete control of the security situation in the city. The city of Karachi is witnessing a wave of bloody violence between rival armed gangs on the basis of political, ethnic and sectarian lines, as this wave of unabated violence led to killing and wounding of 60 people over the past 24 hours.
