The International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) has awarded the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia a Gold Medal in recognition of the efforts of the Government of The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud in rescue and relief operations carried out all over the world especially recent floods in Pakistan. The Director General of the General Directorate of Civil Defense Lieutenant General Saad bin Abdullah Al-Tuwaijri received the Gold Medal during a meeting of the Organization's Executive Council held recently in Geneva. The Organization's President Dr. Bono said the Kingdom clinched the Gold Medal - the highest one to be awarded to its member states, for its efforts in providing humanitarian and relief assistance to peoples affected by disasters around the world, noting that The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz, has been in the front of all, in doing philanthropist actions and providing assistance to peoples affected by disasters. He commended the performance of Saudi Rescue Team in Pakistan and its leading roles in rescue and relief operations as well as assistance to peoples affected by the floods that swept a number of Pakistani cities. For his part, Al-Tuwaijri said the high position enjoyed by the Kingdom at all international arenas has been a result from the King's policy and initiatives to disseminate the values ??of fraternity, cordiality and peace among all peoples of the world.
