Stocks in Tokyo declined in Thursday trading, dragged down by disappointing economic data from the United States and ongoing concern about Greek debt, as dpa reported. The benchmark Nikkei 225 Stock Average dropped 163.04 points, or 1.70 per cent, to stand at 9411.28. The broader-based Topix index was down 12.24 points, or 1.48 per cent, at 812.41. US stocks fell to a new low overnight and investors were spooked by uncertainty over a second rescue deal for Greece. On currency markets at 3 pm (0600 GMT), the dollar traded at 80.77-78 yen, up slightly from Wednesday's 5 pm quote of 80.59-61 yen. The euro traded at 1.4114-15 dollars, down from 1.4371-73 dollars Wednesday, and at 113.99-114.03 yen, down from 115.82-86 yen.
