A statement issued by the Ministry of Interior today revealed the identity of the infiltrator across the border with Yemen who was killed in action according to a statement yesterday announcing the martyrdom of two security men and the injury of a third during a chase battle of the infiltrator. A security spokesman of the Ministry said investigations revealed that Abdullah bin Abdulrahman bin Saleh Al-Sayel, a Saudi national, was the one who was meant in the Ministry's statement of yesterday. He was the same person who previously committed a number of crimes within his activity as member of the deviant group, including the attack against two security patrols in Buraidah, Qassim Region on 23/6/1432 H., killing one security man to martyrdom and injuring another. The statement said Al-Sayel was also apprehended by the security authorities on 26/12/1424 H. and was convicted for involvement in activities of the deviant group including taking part in preparing a training camp for deviant members, provision of weapons for them, assisting them to travel to tense areas outside the country, participation in attacks against security men and not living up to his previous pledge not to travel to troubled countries. After having serviced his sentence, Al-Sayel was released and sent to an illumination program prepared by the religious authorities to help the released get better understanding of the holy Quran and Prophet's instructions, the statement added. In its statement, the Ministry of Interior underscored the importance of the two-pronged treatment for those found guilty in deviant group-related crimes including legal punishment and social liability of relatives and friends of whoever was released.
