Stocks in Tokyo lost ground in morning trading Tuesday after initial gains when the markets opened, dragged down by a stronger yen. The benchmark Nikkei 225 Stock Average lost 23.27 points, or 0.24 per cent to trade at 9,771.11, while the broader Topix index inched down 1.24 points, or 0.15 per cent, to 851.97, according to a report of the German Press Agency "DPA".
