Awwal 25, 1432 / April 29, 2011, SPA -- Civil defense managed to control a fire broke out in a hotel in Ajyad district here, resulting in the death of one man (Pakistani nationality) of its residents. Lieutenant Colonel Ali Al-Montashari, Director of Investigation and Media Spokesman at the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Makkah, said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA): "12 divisions of the civil defense succeeded in controlling the blaze, which broke out at 7:43 am on this morning in the hotel named "Be'ar Balilah" housing about 250 pilgrims of different nationalities". He concluded his statement by saying that the concerned authorities secured alternative accommodation for all guests while the investigation is still ongoing to find out the causes of the accident.
