Akhir 02, 1432 H/March 7, 2011, SPA -- A criminal gang allegedly responsible for stealing entire cash machines and their cash content in a spree across three European nations was arrested over the weekend, Slovakian police reported Monday, according to dpa. The crew allegedly ripped at least 30 cash machines from their moorings in a series of heists in Slovakia, Austria and the Czech Republic, said Police Commissioner Jaroslav Spisiak. A series of coordinated raids in the western Slovakian city of Sered led to the arrest of three of the five main suspects, along with the confiscation of large amounts of evidence, said Spisiak. The evidence included parts of the cash machines, special tools, weapons, devices to listen in on police radios and mobile phones, as well as one of the vehicles used in a robbery.
