Five persons from Chad have been arrested for a series of robberies and attacks on shops around the city. The five, reportedly wearing homemade balaclavas, threatened storekeepers with knives before tying them up and making away with goods and cash. Some victims were said to have been physically attacked. The group is also believed to be responsible for entering the home of a Pakistani man in the Al-Safa District of Jeddah and attacking him and members of his family before stealing passports and identity cards. Police said Sunday they were investigating possible connections to other incidents of a similar nature.
