Awwal 05, 1432 H/ Feb 08, 2011, SPA -- Laureates of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Translation will be announced soon, it was reported here today. Following a meeting of the Council of Trustees of the prize, Dr. Saeed bin Fayez Alsaeed, the Secretary General of the prize who is also Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Antiquities at King Saud University, said the meeting reviewed a report by the prize's Secretariat General on the candidate works submitted to the Secretariat General. Dr. Alsaeed also said the prize would play an important role in activating the movement of translation from Arabic language and into it in all fields of humanitarian and physical sciences, noting that the number of competitors since the inception of the prize five years ago, reached 462 nominated by 79 commissions and scientific and research foundations from all over the world. He said 263 works were in the field of translation from different languages into Arabic against 100 from Arabic into other international languages.
