Saudi Aramco has participated in the six-day long British Festival this year in Birmingham, which is Europe's largest public celebration of science. Demonstrating its commitment to education in the name of science, Saudi Aramco was the principal sponsor of this year's British Science Festival. More than 90,000 visitors flocked to the Festival last week to learn and experience science and technology. A packed program of more than 250 events taking place in lecture halls, marquees, museums. Visitors flitted from event to event, but one thing was for sure, the traffic through the Saudi Aramco and King Abdulaziz Exhibit was continuous, receiving up to 1,000 visitors per hour during peak times. Divided into three sections, the Exhibit highlighted the use of energy in our everyday lives. In the technology room, children and adults alike were amazed by the 3D TV that didn't require special glasses to view, while the quiz displayed on the touch screen attracted those eager to win a prize for correctly answering all questions. The Exhibit also provided young and old with the opportunity to learn about Saudi Aramco's contributions to the global community via the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture project. “The Center will focus on creativity, youth development and cross-cultural engagement which is just as important in science, as it is in art,” said Fuad Al-Therman, Director of the Center. The Saudi Aramco Exhibit received the seal of approval from both visitors and the British Science Association. --MORE
