long Saudi Aramco “Happy Eid” program at Aramco's Exhibition Center, which ended here Sunday, attracted large crowds with thousands of visitors enjoying entertainment programs, cultural and folklore shows, animated movies and children's techno park. Abdul Aziz M. Al-Qadhi, the festival's chief organizer, told Saudi Gazette that the “Happy Eid” program attracted a large number of expatriate families and gave them an opportunity to promote their cultural programs during the Eid celebration festival. Due to overwhelming public response, we are planning to conduct similar events in the future especially on festive occasions, he added. Festival organizers this year provided various expatriate community organizations a chance to promote their cultural programs as well as to display their national handicraft products in the Aramco's open air stadium. There were special Saudi national cultural programs on Sep. 23 as part of Saudi National Day celebrations. Throughout the festival week there were also Palestinian, Syrian, Indian and Filipino cultural programs presented by members of the local community. Pavilions were set up to promote Indian and Philippine tourism, various food items and handicrafts products. There were also science exhibitions and others on the history of Saudi Aramco, the science of Islam, computer science and mechanical and electrical engineering.
