An earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale rocked Indonesia's easternmost region of Papua early Thursday, prompting a tsunami warning. The epicentre of the quake was 141 kilometres south-east of Kaimana in West Papua province at a depth of 25 kilometres, dpa quoted the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency as saying. The quake was followed by another measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale off the Aru island group near the Maluku archipelago, the agency said. "We're still trying to contact West Papua to check whether there has been damage or casualties," said Andi Arief, a presidential aide in charge of disaster management.
