Pakistan's Minister of Interior Rahman Malik today expressed thanks to and appreciation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, for the continuing humanitarian support it was extending to the people of Pakistan, including an airlift of urgent relief assistance and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques campaign for the relief of flood-stricken areas and people. The ambassador also extended thanks to Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, who is also General Supervisor of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques campaign for the relief of flood-stricken areas and people, for the strenuous efforts exerted by the Saudi rescue team in the flood-hit areas. This came in a statement by the minister following his meeting with the Saudi ambassador to Pakistan Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim Al-Ghadir in Karachi, capital of southern Al-Sind state, this evening. The minister said the Saudi assistance items, including urgent relief materials and the two mobile hospitals, were doing well. He added that the Saudi assistance encouraged the world community to augment their efforts to help Pakistan, noting that Saudi Arabia was the first country to come to the assistance of the people of Pakistan. He confirmed that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques is considered the leader of the Islamic nation, citing his humanitarian support for numerous Islamic countries. He said the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to organize dialogue conferences between followers of different religions and cultures has become an approach that other nations were following, a move helped improve the profile of Islam in the west. Also, he lauded the efforts exerted by the Saudi ambassador to Pakistan in distributing relief items over flood-hit regions.
