Quds is enduring the most difficult times in its history as a result of Judaization attempts as Israel endeavors to alter the Arab Islamic identity of the Al-Quds and seize the houses of Palestinian in the city, as part of a systematic ethnic cleansing process intended to empty the holy city from its original inhabitant and replace them by settlers, in a grave violation of international law. The Organization of the Islamic Conference emphasizes again on this occasion that the city of Al-Quds and the safety of its holy sites is of special importance to all Muslims and is strongly linked to the prevalence of peace and security in the region and worldwide. "Israel is therefore fully responsible for the safety of these holy sites which are under its occupation. Israel should comply with international treaties and agreements, particularly the Fourth Geneva Convention which prohibits any aggression by the occupying power, Israel, against holy sites and preventing worshippers from accessing them. The Convention also bans alteration of the demographic composition and urban configuration of occupied territories and prohibits aggression against their historical sites. In view of continuing Israeli aggressions against the city of Al-Quds, the Organization of the Islamic Conference whose establishment came as a direct result of the issue of Al-Quds and Palestine, calls on the international community's action in order to compel Israel to comply with the provisions and rules of international law, to end its aggressions and violations in the occupied city of Al-Quds and to respect the holy sites." On this occasion, the Organization of the Islamic Conference emphasizes the consistent position of the Islamic Ummah on the city of Al-Quds and the protection of its Arab-Islamic identity and renews its invitation to its Member States to continue to extend all forms of assistance and support to the just struggle of the Palestinian people for self-determination and for the establishment of the independent Palestinian State, with Al-Quds as its capital, and for the return of refugees.
