A bomb threat that caused Greek police to evacuate the finance ministry in central Athens ahead of a press conference Thursday turned out to be a hoax, officials said, according to dpa. Police received an anonymous call saying a bomb would go off within minutes of a scheduled press conference by Finance Minister George Papaconstantinou on the results of a two-week EU/IMF inspection visit. After evacuating the building which is located near Syntagma Square, bomb experts conducted a search and then said they had found nothing to suggest that a bomb had been planted.
