An earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale hit Tolitoli district, Central Sulawesi province, on Sunday night. The quake which struck at 7.43 p.m. was centered 5 km northwest of the district capital at a depth of 10 km, ANTARA quoted the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) as saying in a website. A report from Tolitoli said the quake was felt by local people for a few seconds. Earlier, on Saturday, a magnitude 3.5 earthquake also hit Palu, capital of Central Sulawesi province. Saturday's quake which struck at 9.02 p.m. was centered 8 km west of Palu at a depth of 4 km, the agency said. No fatalities or injuries were reported in the quake.
