Saudi ambassador to Algeria Dr Sami al-Salih has highlighted the great attention given by the Saudi government to the cultural sector notably the antiquities which reflect the human civilization witnessed by Saudi Arabia. In a statement to SPA, he said the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah ibn Abdul-Aziz is keen on the protection and preservation of the Kingdom's antiquities. Pointing out to the exhibition of archeological masterpieces of Saudi Arabia, currently organized at Paris-based Louvre Museum, the ambassador said the great attention given by the Algerian media to this event reflects the keenness of the Algerian media men on getting acquainted with the Kingdom's antiquities which go back to thousands of years. The ambassador praised the Kingdom's efforts as regards preservation of antiquities and said the existing museums and antiquities institutes in the Kingdom reflect the attention given by the Saudi officials to the Kingdom's history. It is worth mentioning that the exhibition of the archeological masterpieces of Saudi Arabia displays more than 300 pieces of antiquities.
