A serviceman of Motorized Infantry Brigade 136 of the Russian Defence Ministry has been killed in Dagestan's Buinaksk. A group of unidentified persons came to a checkpoint of a military unit, seized mobile telephones of servicemen, and one of the attackers struck a soldier with a knife. The wounded serviceman died on the way to hospital, Itar-Tass reported. An hour earlier, unidentified attackers fired at a group of defence ministry officers near a checkpoint. The officers had come to Buinaksk from one of Russian regions. Three servicemen were killed in the shooting attack. According to the investigation, the two incidents are not viewed as links of one chain. An investigation into the two attacks is underway. A team from the prosecutor's office of the Defence Ministry is working at the site.
