A police checkpoint was fired at in the Sharoi region of Chechnya. Nobody was injured, Itar-Tass learnt at the law enforcement bodies of the republic. “On Monday evening, unidentified people opened submachine-gun fire at the KPP-2 checkpoint, at which officers of the Interior Department of the region and a temporary grouping of the Russian Interior Ministry were on duty,” a law enforcer said. According to him, there are no victims among the personnel. Another incident occurred six kilometers from the village of Staryi Achkhoi of the Achkhoi-Martan region. While servicemen of the Russian Defense Ministry were conducting a reconnaissance and search operation, an unidentified explosive device went off. As a result, one serviceman got injuries and was hospitalized.
