Three servicemen of the Defence Ministry were killed in a blast in Chechnya, a source in the republican law enforcement agencies told Itar-Tass on Friday. “During a reconnaissance operation in the woody highlands servicemen of the Defence Ministry hit an unidentified explosive device on Thursday evening, nine kilometres away from Bamut, the Achkhoi-Martan Region of the republic,” the source said. An assistant commander of the reconnaissance party was killed, two contract servicemen were injured in the explosion, one of them died on the way to the hospital. “The second explosive device detonated during the evacuation of the injured servicemen from the blast site. The commander of the reconnaissance party died of wounds on the way to the hospital,” the source said. The investigation into the explosion is underway.
