Speakers of the Arab Legislative Councils and Parliaments have held a meeting here to coordinate their stands at the 3rd World Conference of Parliament Speakers, which began its three-day works earlier today in Geneva under the auspices of the International Parliamentary Union and chairmanship of IPU President, Dr. Theo-Ben Gurirab. The Speaker of Saudi Majlis Al Shura, Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh participated in this coordination meeting. He is heading the Kingdom's delegation at the 3rd World Conference of Parliament Speakers. On their part, the speakers of the Arab parliaments have agreed to focus on peculiarities of the Arab countries during the discussions pertaining to turning the IPU into an international governmental organization. They have reiterated that turning the IPU into a governmental organization will affect its surveillance role on the governments.
