Sheikha Lubna Qassimi, Minister of Foreign Trade, has conducted a series of extensive meetings with high ranking Canadian officials on the sidelines of her current visit to Canada. The meetings covered UAE-Canadian bilateral relations and means of boosting cooperation in all fields, especially in trade and investment. She met the Prime Minister, the President of the Senate, the Minister of International Trade and a number of Canadian businessmen and investors, the UAE news agency "WAM" reported. During her meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Steven Harper, both sides discussed UAE-Canadian bilateral relations, especially trade and investment cooperation. . Sheikha Lubna conveyed to the Canadian Prime Minister, the compliments of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Prime Minister and Vice President of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, and affirmed the UAE's keenness on expanding bilateral cooperation between the UAE and Canada in all fields in order to boost the development of both friendly countries' economies. She shared with the Prime Minister the latest regarding the UAE Economy, pointing out that it registered positive growth that is expected to increase this year in line with the general improvements being witnessed in the pace of economic activity, adding that the UAE has attained advanced positions in international economic and commercial surveys and reports. For his part, the Canadian Prime Minister welcomed Sheikha Lubna Al Qassimi's visit to Canada, underlining his country's keenness on developing bilateral trade with the UAE especially in trade and investment. Sheikha Lubna also visited the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa and met with the President of the Canadian Senate Noel Kinsilla. She also met with Peter Van Loan, the Minister of International Trade, Deputy Minister of International Trade, Louis Lavesque and a number of Canadian businessmen and investors.
