Majlis Al-Shura's Assistant Speaker Dr Abdulrahman Al-Barrak has highlighted the great achievements attained by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the era of the Custodian the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz. In an article, on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of King Abdullah's ascendance to the throne, Dr Al-Barrak said allegiance is one of the bases of the Islamic rule. He noted that allegiance means a pledge between the ruler and the people to establish a regime based on the Holy Quran and Sunnah (the Prophet's teachings). "Moreover, the Saudi government has been implementing this principle ever since the era of the first Saudi state. The Allegiance-Pledge Commission was established in 1437H for naming the King and his Crown Prince from the sons and grandsons of King Abdulaziz, the Kingdom's Founder. The anniversary provides a good opportunity to contemplate, revise and amend , he said. --MORE
