The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Award for Translation has topped the list among translation awards at international arena and it has succeeded in attracting major scientific and academic institutions, and the best translators in the world. A report, on the occasion of hosting a handing-over ceremony of the 3rd Award by United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on Tuesday, pointed to the consensus among political, cultural and scientific elites on the importance of the award in activation of translation movement from and into Arabic, and its utilization for advancement of opportunities of dialogue of civilizations and rapprochement among cultures. UNESCO's hosting of the handing-over ceremony confirms the universality of the award, and the support provided by the international community for its objectives in rapprochement between cultures and enhancement of dialogue among the followers of religions. Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the King said, "UNESCO's welcome to host the handing-over ceremony demonstrates the support of the international community for the King's Initiative for Dialogue between Cultures, and as an appreciation of the efforts of the Kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz in promoting international cooperation for all the interest of humanity, and confirming the universality of the award and the nobility of its objectives, as tools for communicating knowledge between Arab and other cultures.
