Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Abdullah, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah International Award for Translation and Member of the Board of Directors of King Abdulaziz Public Library, distributed the translation awards to the winners here Tuesday evening. In a speech delivered during the award ceremony, Prince Abdul Aziz confirmed the award's success in attracting the major universities, scientific and academic institutions and best translators throughout the world. Prince Abdul Aziz highlighted the award's importance in stimulating the movement of translation in addition to enhancing opportunities for cultural dialogue and rapprochement among cultures. He also said, “I am honored to convey the greetings of King Abdullah, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, who deeply appreciates your role in enriching the movement of translation as well as enhancing the dialogue of cultures.” Prince Abdulaziz conveyed the approval of King Abdullah to establish a branch of the King Abdul Aziz Public Library at the University of Beijing in order to promote cultural and scientific exchange between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of China. He also announced that an agreement has been reached to establish the King Abdullah International Center for Dialogue Among Followers of Religions and Cultures. The center will be set up in Vienna with the participation of the Republic of Austria and the Kingdom of Spain. The Austrian Foreign Ministry, in a press release, stressed that the center is the cornerstone of a continuing and stable dialogue, praising the initiative of King Abdullah for launching the dialogue among followers of religions and cultures and establishing the center. Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will sign in Vienna, Thursday, the Convention on the establishment of the center, during a grand ceremony, in the presence of the Vice-Chancellor and Foreign Minister of Austria, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain and representatives of religious communities.
