Kamchatsky, Russia, March 13, 2010, SPA -- A cyclone with snowstorms has come to Kamchatka's coast from the Sea of Okhotsk. It is spreading its influence on coastal regions in the south of the peninsula. A storm warning is issued for the appropriate services and the fleet. The cyclone influence is felt on the southwestern and southeastern coasts of the peninsula. The wind speed is up to 15-20 meters a second in the settlement of Ozernovsky, but does not exceed eight meters a second in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky so far. It begins snowing in the southern regions, a source at the Kamchatka meteorological centre told Itar-Tass. The situation will worsen in a few hours, meteorologists warn. The southwest will be hit by the wind of up to 30 meters a second, and in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky the wind speed will reach 20-24 meters a second on the night. A snow storm will rage in the Ust-Bolsheretsk and Yelizovo districts and the territorial centre. The weather is expected to improve in the south of the peninsula on Sunday. The cyclone will move to the central and northern part and subside by March 15. The better whether will not set in for long, meteorologists said. According to the preliminary forecast, a new snow cyclone will come to the peninsula later next week.
