The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) will participate in the Forum on Environment and Sustainable Development, scheduled to open its deliberations here tomorrow. IDB's President Dr Ahmad Mohammed Ali underscored the importance of the Forum and said it is concerned with combating environmental pollution as well as with sustainable development. He noted that in the light of the world economic crisis, the organization of such a forum will be an essential matter. "Water and food security are an important matters for easing burdens of poverty," he said. Dr Ali urged the leaders of the world to confront challenges through a coordinated strategy and said the DIB has taken certain measures for boosting agricultural production and management of water resources.
