The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) President Ahmad Mohammad Ali has met Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, says an official statement. The IDB is a strategic partner in Pakistan's economic growth and has played an important role especially in the development of its infrastructure, education and the health sector, Aziz said. The IDB is our development partner and Pakistan values and welcomes the advice given by it. The prime minister said the IDB is the economic arm of OIC and it is playing an important role in the development of Muslim countries. Aziz appreciated the idea of infrastructure Development Fund being contemplated by IDB and asked the IDB to invest in the construction of water storages in Pakistan. The prime minister said the Muslim nation can take justifiable pride that the IDB has evolved into an internationally recognized and reputable institution under the inspiring and highly competent leadership of the incumbent president. According to the statement, Dr Ahmad Mohammad Ali appreciated Pakistan for holding the second meeting of World Islamic Economic Forum and said the Forum will bring together the business community of Islamic countries and will provide them avenues for enhanced economic cooperation.
