The two sides stressed the importance of benefit by the private sectors in the two countries from the available finance mechanisms in the Saudi Development Fund and Islamic Development Bank to increase volume of trade between them. 7- Within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its counterpart in Yemen concerning World Trade Organization, the Saudi negotiation team met their Yemeni counterparts in the city of Riyadh during the period 3-7/1/1430 H. A team of specialists visited the General Department of Intellectual Property Protection of the Yemeni Ministry of Industry and Commerce visited the kingdom during the month of Muharam 1431 H. corresponding to December 2009 G. They met specialists at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and relevant authorities. They were briefed on the Saudi experience in this field. A number of steps were approved for serving the accession of Yemen to the World Trade Organization and relevant regional organizations. Agreement was also reached on continuing technical support and advice for the Yemeni negotiation side at the final negotiation phases. 8- The two sides welcomed cooperation between the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization and its Yemeni counterpart and the training of a number of Yemenis in addition to those who were accepted for training at the laboratories of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization. The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization expressed willingness to train Yemeni technicians according to available courses at the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization. 9- The two sides welcomed the results of the sixth meeting of the joint ministerial follow-up committee of the Saudi-Yemeni Coordination Council which was held in the city of Sanaa on 17 Thu Alqida 1429 H. corresponding to 15 November 2008 G. 10- The two sides welcomed statement by the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council in its 29th session which was held in the city of Muscat during the period 29-30 December 2008 on Yemen's accession to some GCC commissions and establishments including the GCC Standardization Commission and the GCC Organization for Industrial Consultations. --more
