Yemen joins GCC Standardization Organization

The GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) Standardization Organization (GSO) approved Yemen"s membership in the GSO with effect from January 01, 2010.
Dr. Anwar Al Abdullah, The Secretary General of GSO said that GSO General Secretariat is confident and optimistic that the membership of the Republic of Yemen to the GSO will support the coordination, cooperation and complementarity process between member states in various fields of standardization and related activities.
Dr. Anwar congratulated Yemen to be represented by the Minister of Industry and Commerce Dr. Yahya Al Motawakel and welcomed him as an active GSO member.
He also welcomed the Yemen Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control Organization (YSMO) to the Technical Council and other related committees.
