The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud emphasized the importance of applying quality standards and excellence in all public and private manufacturing and service sectors, benefitting from leading and distinguished experiences in the field of quality, and employing the best practices to achieve the Vision of the Kingdom 2020 "Saudi Arabia, with its products and services, a global standard for quality and perfection. " In a speech delivered on the King's behalf by Minister of Commerce and Industry Abdullah bin Ahmed Zainal at the opening ceremony of the 3rd National Conference of Quality, entitled "Quality, The Way for Universality" organized by Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO), in cooperation with the National Committee for Quality, Saudi Council of Quality and the Ministry of Education, the King said, "The realization of the Kingdom's ambitious strategy in the field of quality requires the performance of our roles at the global levels to support the competitiveness of our products and services and to give them added values to compete at international markets." In his speech, the Governor of Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO) Nabil Bin Amin Mulla pointed out that this conference reflects the keenness of the leadership to adopt the concepts of quality and spreading its culture in all productive and service sectors as prerequisites of strategies that various nations and peoples seek to apply to achieve the distinguished levels to support the plans and programs of sustainable development.
