An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale rattled north Taiwan on Monday, but there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, officials said. The epicenter of the quake, which struck at 1:21 p.m. (0521 GMT) was about 160 km (100 miles) east of Suao on the northeast coast, at a depth of 28 km (17 miles), the Central Weather Bureau said in a statement quoted by Reuters. There were no immediate reports of damage.
