A 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck Tasikmalaya, West Java on Friday at 10.16 local time, ANTARA reported today. According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency here, the epicenter of the quake was located 153 km southwest of Tasikmalaya at a depth of 40 km. The tremor, however, practically did not cause panic among the population of Tasikmalaya, as the shocks were relatively low.
