An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted Ternate, North Maluku Province, on Saturday at 8.15 am Western Indonesian Standard Time (WIB). The quake's epicenter was located at around 122 km southwest of Ternate, at a depth of 10 km below sea level, Bima, a staff member of the Ternate meteorological, climatology and geophysics office, said. Last March 14, Ternate was shaken by a 7-magnitude earthquake with its epicenter located at Obi Strait, Halmahera Selatan, according to ANTARA.
