The British military says one of its soldiers has been killed by an explosion in southern Afghanistan. The Ministry of Defense says the unidentified soldier from 3rd Battalion The Rifles died Sunday while on foot patrol in Sangin in Helmand province. The death brings to 251 the number of British military personnel who have died in Afghanistan since the start of operations there in October 2001.
