Under the patronage of Minister of Culture and Information Dr Abdul-Aziz Khoja, the Third seminar on "Intellectual Property" began its deliberations here today. The seminar is organized by the Saudi Law Training Center with the participation of Ministry of Culture and Information in cooperation with Jeddah"s Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Majed Karoub, the Head of the Saudi Law Training Center, said the Geneva-based international intellectual property organization is considered as one of the most important agreements based on the World Trade Organization (WTO). Noting the existence of cultural and economic dispute between the industrial countries and the other countries, Dr Karoub said the Saudi Law Training Center has been positively contributing to the development of the culture of knowledge. Dr Karoub pointed out that the center has signed a number of agreements with a number of Arab and regional universities and institutions. Meanwhile, Dr Abdul-Rahman al-Hazza, the supervisor of the internal information at the ministry of culture and information, underscored the great attention given by the ministry of culture and information to the rights of the author and said the ministry has formed a committee for the protection of the rights of the author. Dr. Al-Hazza confirmed the keenness of the ministry on promoting cooperation with all concerned authorities to implant the culture of intellectual property.
