Saudi newspapers commented in their editorials today on a number of topics particularly relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and France and infiltration into Saudi territory. In their editorials on relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and France, Al-Watan, Al-Jazirah and Al-Riyadh newspapers pointed out that Saudi-French Summit due to be held in Riyadh today confirms the continuity of steps pursued by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in its cultural and civilization dialogue with Arabs and the West, as well as it provides a new addition to the successful march of bilateral relations and historical ties between the two countries. The papers stressed that Saudi-French relations are not new, but old and deeply-rooted, noting that French President Nicolas Sarkozy said that his country desires that its friendship with the Kingdom shall be honest, truthful and strong and that France recognizes the great importance of the Kingdom as a center of the Islamic world in addition to its influential economic and political role at the international arena. The papers pointed to the great rapprochement of viewpoints between the two countries with regard to a number of important political issues.
