King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) will host here tomorrow the 11th Arab Structural Engineering Conference. According to ASEC official web site, the three-day conference aims to provide a forum for academicians, researchers, practicing engineers and policy makers, who have interest in structural engineering, to meet and discuss the recent advances and developments in structures-related areas, and to share ideas on current and future challenges facing the Arab world in responding to the rapid growth of construction in the region. In addition to the regular sessions, the conference aims to have several plenary sessions addressed by well-known academicians, industrialists and public figures. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Khalid Salih Al Sultan, the Rector of KFUPM expressed his appreciation for the continuous support extended by the Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince which contribute in enhancing the University"s role to keep pace with rapid technological advances and innovation. --SPA
