Saudi Customs foiled during the past three months the smuggling of counterfeit goods amounted to1,600,000 items . Abdullah Al-Kharboush, the Spokesman of Saudi Customs said the seizures included many fake and counterfeit materials such as cosmetics, auto parts, tires, tools, electrical appliances, foodstuffs, beverages, juices, bags, watches and accessories, pointing out that the rate of seizures during this period exceeded by 190% the seizures in the same period last year . It is worth mentioning that the Saudi Customs has started its campaign against fake and counterfeit goods with effective from 1 / 1 / 2008.
