A report by Saudi Customs showed it had seized over seven million counterfeited items in 2009. Customs spokesman Abdullah Selh Al-Kharboush said the items include medication, cosmetic products, car spare parts and tires, electronics, foodstuff and drinks. He said 2009 recorded a 162 percent rise, compared to 2008, in terms of quantities seized. Last year customs seized about two million items.
