Yemen's Minister of Public Health and Population Abdul Kareem Rasa headed a meeting on Saturday for representatives of the international humanitarian organizations which support heath sector in Yemen, Saba reported. The minister briefed the representatives about a decision of the government to suspend the military operation in Saada in response to international organizations to facilitate the arrival of humanitarian assistance for displaced people who left their homes due to rebellion in Saada. The minister said that after issuance of the decision, the ministry started to contact with the international organizations to enable these organizations to reach Saada province with their assistance. However, negative response for the decision by rebels made obstacles to achieve this noble goal, the minister said. He made it clear that the ministry in coordination with international organizations adopted a mechanism to send food assistance to camp of the displaced people in Baqim of Saada province and other camps of displaced people in Amran and al-Jaof provinces. The UNDP representative to Yemen Pratibha Mehta expressed happiness for the decision of the government to suspend the military operations, saying that the organization is ready to present humanitarian aid to displaced people.
