French police on Monday found an arms cache of the militant Basque separatist group ETA containing more than 200 kilograms of explosives, Spanish police sources said, dpa reported. The cache in Pardailhan, in the country's south, was the eighth such cache located in France since the arrest of three ETA suspects in the French Alps on Wednesday. Police have seized a total of about 700 kilograms of explosives, as well as weapons, munition and materials for making dozens of bombs which can be attached to vehicles. That method was used in the Basque region and on the island of Majorca to kill three police officers this summer. The discovery of the arms caches was thought to have reduced, but not eliminated ETA's capacity to carry out further attacks, according to Spanish media reports. The group, which is listed as a terrorist organization by the European Union and the United States, is held responsible for more than 820 killings since 1968. -- SPA
