Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired today the Cabinet meeting at Al Salam Palace in Jeddah. At the outset of the session, the King reassured the cabinet about the health of Crown Prince and Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, thanking Allah Almighty for his speedy recovery. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz Khoja said King Abdullah briefed the cabinet on the discussions and consultations he made in the past few days with leaders and envoys of friendly countries regarding the recent developments on the international arena including the two phone calls he received from Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Khoja added that the cabinet listened to a report on the latest developments in the region and across the world. With regards to the Palestinian issue, the cabinet stressed once more the threats surrounding the Palestinian Cause due to the current disputes among the Palestinian factions, warning that such feuds would only serve the enemy. The cabinet also called upon all Palestinians to take immediate action to contain whatever pending issues there might be in order to achieve the ultimate goal of establishing the unified Palestinian state with the city of Jerusalem as its capital. -- More
