Experts and specialists from Red Sea and Gulf of Aden countries conclude a two-day meeting here today designed to forge a plan to preserve sharks from extinction. The Secretary General of the Regional Commission for the Preservation of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden Environment Professor Ziad bin Hamza Abu-Gharar said the meeting tackled the issue of preserving sharks against extinction, noting with concern the results of intensive state-of-the-art fishing in the shark-infested Red Sea and Gulf of Aden region in view of sharks' slow nature of reproduction.
