Dr. Abdul Kareem Abdul Rahman Al Zaid, The Deputy General Supervisor of King Abdulaziz Public Library (KAPL) has reached an Initial Agreement with the Librarian of Beijing University to establish King Abdulaziz Public Library branch at the campus of University of Beijing. This Initial Agreement comes in the context of The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) patronized by The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz and Chinese President Hu Jintao on February 10th, 2009 to establish King Abdulaziz Public Library branch in China, said Al Zaid. One of the objectives of the establishment of a KAPL branch in China is the circulation of scientific information and the investment of scientific resources and the establishment of civilization and cultural dialogue between the People's Republic of China and Saudi Arabia as well as promotion of cultural exchanges and scientific knowledge between Saudi Arabia and China, he said. "It is also aimed at deepening and spreading awareness about the accomplishments of the Arab Culture among the Chinese people in addition to the promotion of values of tolerance, dialogue and co-existence and mutual understanding between the peoples of Saudi Arabia and China. --MORE
